BETTY WOJCIK

Presently Ms Wojcik is Executive Director of the Lake Wales Area Chamber of Commerce since 2005, when she moved here to accept her new position from TN.   She has 35 years experience in managing chambers of commerce's.   She has worked closely with the county, and state governments.  She has been married for 26 years to her husband Bill, has one son, Paul and has 3 grandchildren all living in Franklin, TN.

Lake Wales has multiple problems, with the police, the police chief quits and another officer Sgt Burney Hayes fired.   Even the Main St Director Jan Privett quits her job after taken a $50,000 pay cut leaving her with only $30,000 to live on. 


Main St in Lake Wales is a sad sight.  Empty buildings, no sign of life walking down Main st.  Ms Privett was able to purchase land around Bok Towers, a $6,000,000 deal to preserve this land from developers. 


Betty knows that a positive plan is needed to put Lake Wales again on the map of places to visit.  Sad to say Jack Van Sickle did nothing to improved the city.  He had  $500,000 stolen from the city.  This guy is useless.  He says he went to Wright's College, what is this, a college of toilet cleaning?  He never said he graduated, just went there.


She said in her resume that when Lego land opens this fall, new jobs will be there for all residents including Lake Wales.    She also said that the people's voices will be heard and that their views will be respected and considered. 


Please note that she graduated from DePaul University with a BA in Economic Development Management.  Its a hell of lot more than Jack Van Sickle with his Wright College.  Did he ever graduate?  He never said he did.  Read between the lines.


First on her list is finding Jobs for the residents of Lake Wales.  In this economy, it won't be easy.  Anyone can do a lot better than Jack.  Jack has done nothing but made Lake Wales a  hunted town.
