Joe Hunter
Did you see see picture in the LA Times April issue What the hell has this got to do with Lake Ashton?????? He is shown holding a picture of the Award. When I did the Elvis show and gave $1500 to Give Kids The World Tricia Adams refuse to post the story I mailed her. I give up. This award is more important than helping parents that are losing their children. This my friends is a slap in your face. Lake Ashton is going down hill fast and I am not getting help from you. Please mail me any INFO that you might have about Joe Hunter or Lake Ashton. lakeashtontalk@yahoo.com
JOE HUNTER
If you ever complain to Joe Hunter about something all you going to hear is go see the HOA or the CDD commettee. He does nothing to help the residents of Lake Ashton. He is to busy with Veanna Woods community and Florida Restaurant & Lodging Associations.
Lake Ashton Grill
Lunch and dinners are just not what they use to be. I have had over a dozen complaints about the food being very bad and they are not going to waste their time and money for bad food again. There are so many good restaurant's around town and you don't have to put on your suit and tie to sit down and eat. The last time I ate there was last year and never again will I waste my time eating bad food.

CYPRESS GARDENS water park is now open on weekends, but how about the rest of the park?
They are asking you to bring a friend for only $19.95 if your a season pass holder. Please remember that your season pass was no good for six months and they want $19.95 in addition to yourself. What a raw deal.

Joe Hunter
I found out how much experience Joe Hunter has as the Lake Ashton Community director. Yes, the guy who accuses everyone of wrong doing even if that person was thousands of miles away. This guy should get himself a cheap camera so he will have positive proof of the wrong doing and then he bans that person from the club house for a week or so. This guy is a joke. Yes he was inventory controller at Manny's restaurant. And from this experience he is director of Lake Ashton. I called Mr Manny at Haines City 863-422-3910 and got my answer. I believe the Developer should replace him with a professional director with experience. There are lots of directors looking for a job, lets put an ad in the newspaper and get a honest director for Lake Ashton. If you agree please E-Mail me at lakeashtontalk@yahoo.com Thanks
Water Meter
Changing Times, no longer will you see a person come and read the water meter. The reading will go directly to a satellite and back to the office for billing effective ASAP.

Consumer Concerned: "Could I Have Toxic Chinese Dry Wall?
March 4, 2009. By Jane Mundy
Indio, CA: Robin moved into her brand new home 18 months ago and right away she noticed chemical vapors coming from the walls. "Sometimes I can see a white cloud through my house—it is actually hazy in here—and others also notice," says Robin. At the time, she hadn't heard of Chinese Drywall problems, but now she believes that her house was built with toxic drywall.
Drywall Smell Robin says some days it is like a gas chamber in her house, weather dependent. "It is worse when there is a lot of humidity outside and especially bad when it rains," she says. "Today is a good day; it is dry outside so she is am able to talk on the phone. Other days, I have to move the phone outside to carry on a conversation."
She has noticed the interior walls that double as exterior walls seem to be the most toxic. "I know it has something to do with the exterior walls; at first I thought it was an insulation problem—and there could still be a problem with the insulation.
"I contacted some drywall specialists in Florida who were dealing with the toxic Chinese drywall and I told them I had a similar situation but I don't smell the sulfur. Mine smells like a dirty ashtray, hairspray and burning chemicals, all at different times, depending upon the humidity and temperature.
The Florida specialists said I have drywall from the United States Gypsum Company (I knew that too) and they are experiencing a different chemical vapor coming from their drywall, not sulfur. I haven’t called the drywall company yet because I have been complaining to my builder since day one that some chemical was coming out of the walls.
I also told the specialists that my lungs burn; I have nosebleeds and my throat burns and even my brain burns. I can actually taste the chemicals in my mouth. I live by myself but my friends and neighbors concur with me—they can also taste the chemicals. The drywall experts said my health symptoms were similar to other consumer complaints with this drywall company. Apparently the dry wall problem is very pervasive—several companies nationwide are involved with toxic drywall.
And I have Parkinson's Disease. It was under control prior to all this but the constant smelling and ingesting of all these chemicals in my house has made me spastic and it is very difficult to breathe. The air is very thick—I have had to keep all my windows and doors open for the past 18 months. And to make things worse, I work from home!
I went to a doctor and had tests done. I had toxic levels of formaldehyde, phenol and carbolic acid in my body. I am now taking detox supplements as per my doctor's advice. She also told me to take out of my house whatever I could. I ripped up all my carpet and carpet padding. But I can't rip down the walls. (When I saw my doctor, I still didn't know about the drywall issue.)
My builder told me that I was the only one who had complained so I went online to research my builder; to see if anyone else was complaining of chemical vapors. I couldn’t believe the amount of people who had filed complaints; I had no idea that toxic drywall was so prevalent, even though my complaint was a bit different.
So now I need to get the drywall tested. I haven't done anything yet—this just happened a month ago. And I am still assuming that it is the drywall.
I am hoping that the expert in Florida will come out here and test my drywall but right now it is just a waiting game. I wish I could sell my house…Meanwhile I am sleeping on a mattress in my brand new kitchen because my head can rest right next to the sliding glass doors..."

Chinese Drywall Problems
Drywall may be Leaking Potentially Toxic Gases
People in housing developments in Florida, California, Arizona, and other states are concerned over the potential for property damage and health problems resulting from drywall from China that reportedly leaks corrosive chemicals.
Drywall Reports from residents include copper tubing turning black, the failure of air conditioning coils exposed to the drywall, and smells of sulfur.
According to reports, Dan Reid who is with Intuitive Environmental Solutions in Florida, has researched the problem, and suspects that some of the drywall imported from China in 2004 and 2005 was made with waste products taken from scrubbers on coal-fired power plants. Those materials can subsequently off-gas into the atmosphere, and when those gases combine with moisture on air conditioning coils they create sulfuric acid. This in turn, appears to be dissolving solder joints and copper tubing — creating leaks, blackening the coils and even causing the system to fail, he said.
There is also the potential for health problems stemming from breathing airborn sulfuric compounds and the very unpleasant smell.

Joe Hunter & Jeffery Salvin, CDD president
Have you ever wonder how these guys can sleep at night knowing there is someone trying to raise money for children that are very sick and giving them one more chance of joy and happiness at Disney world. That someone is Edmund King who has already raise $1500 for give Kids the world. Joe hunter force the CDD committee to charge people to use the ballroom and this is only the beginning. What are you paying maintenance fees for? There will be more fees yet to come and no one is doing or saying anything. I guess watching their TV is more important. I am a one man crusade against higher fees. All you couch potatoes enjoy your TV and pop corn and the hell with the outside world.
Lake Ashton
Living in a community that want money to to put on a charity show to GIVE KIDS THE WORLD a chance for the kids who have a life threatening illnesses to visit Disney World in their final days is just plain sick. Lake Ashton needs the money for what? To pay a do nothing Joe Hunter? No money out of their pocket for me, to put on a charity show for these wonderful kids who have very little time to live. Joe Hunter is has cold as the north pole. No love for anyone but himself. Call Joe Hunter and speak your mind at 324-5457 and tell him what you think or do you care? Also call Jeff Salvin, CDD president who believed in Joe Hunter in charging a fee to use the ballroom for charity. His phone number is 324-4599 or do you care? It is so sad that I had 2 shows booked Nail Diamond and Barbra Strisand and the magic of Erick Olson, two great shows for charity.
