Elvis Show
When I had the ELVIS show a few months ago, it just so happens that Tricia Adams could not make it. She had other plans, so did Keith Stevens, other plans. Strange coincidence.
KKK
Can this be true? As guest speaker for the veterans club, he was ask by Frank Cutter, president of the Veterans club to come to Lake Ashton and speak before the members of the club. This speaker used to belong to the KKK. Yes in front of all the veterans, colored or white. This is totally downgrading and disgusting.
Salaries
It has been said that Tricia Adams brings home a whopping $70,000 a year salary for being in charge of the activities and community relations. No wonder she is always smiling. Joe Hunter also brings home a $80,000 a year plus a bonus of $70,000 for a total of $150,000 a year for doing nothing. He says he a community director. I can't see it. This has got to be joke. Please someone help me out.
Sales Office Super SalesPerson
Lori Raath is doing all right for herself in the sales office here at Lake Ashton. She has a very large home, Est. value over $500.000 with a guest home est.value $300.000. Now when things get slow she is asking you for referrals. Maybe she can sell you a spec home. Your chance to make big money.
Dirty Hot Tub
Did my daily walk and I notice that the hot tub was being drain at the main club house next to the pool. I looked in and what a mess. Someone went to the bathroom in the Hot Tub and had a bad case of the diarrhea. Sick, just 50 feet away are the bathrooms. This is typical of the type of people we have here at Lake Ashton. They are the first to say this is paradise. Paradise in the Hot Tub.

Guest Visitation, fabulous great escape
$99.00 for 4 days and 3 nights. Its all fun and games on their web site. Its too good to be true. Here's the catch. First day is your arrival day, they grab you and take you through town for a sight seeing tour plus sales talk, than on your second day you must go with the sales lady around Lake Ashton to view the model homes and golf course. Third day is your review day with the sales lady. Fourth day you must be out by 9:00 am Sounds like they should be paying the guest visitor. You just don't get anything free now days, not from the developer.
2 1/2 % of Home Cost Equals your Taxes
Yes, if you paid $500.000 for your home, your taxes would be around $12,500. About $1000.00 a month. Good deal for the city of Lake Wales. How did they pay their bills before Lake Ashton? If you ride around Lake Wales, most homes are just trash. 2 1/2 % of trash equals 0.00 Here is where we come in.

Get behind the wheel and deal, Save $40.000 to $100.000 on a home says Lake Ashton Living Web site. I guess you people that bought before this notice went up lost money. You owe more on your home than the value of it.
A Fool in Every Crowd
Some of you people really think this is a place that tells no lies. If you go into the main sells office, THEY ONLY tell you about new homes and nothing about resales. In other words if you bought a new home they will not help you to sell it. Then they don't tell you about MX $71.00/month and also the CDD cost and the high cost of Taxes. The day you buy your new home they give you a 1/2 thick book of rules call covenants. They expect you to read it in two minutes. They also tell you while your home is being built, don't rent a home, buy another smaller home and sell that one and make money. This is why we have 14 foreclosers now in Lake Ashton. They have made a fool out of a lot of people. The homes are so cheap you can't remove the window from the frame for repair. The sliding glass door has a cheap lock that every crook is taking advantage of it. The new homes now have no side garage door, just the large car door. When they spray paint the walls they also spray paint the ceiling with the same color to save money. Also all roads are sinking and cracking and some need a lot of repairs. These repairs will be given to you as assessment to your property costing you over $10,000 because the developer has also cut cost on the roads. Yes, you was made a fool by the developer, but your afraid to admit it.

Lets Set the Record Straight
It was me that asked Tampa Bay Channel 10 to come to Lake Ashton on March 16, 2006 to do a investigation report on No Pick-Up Trucks in Driveways. If you would like that report please E-Mail me at lakeashtontalk@yahoo.com It was also me that got The Ledger here at Lake Ashton on March 1, 2006 on the pick-up issue and it made front page news the following day on March 2. I have those copies. Just this year I stop the Spraying of Herbicides by the developer in Lake Ashton on April 16, 2008. Yes I do care about this community and I am doing my best to see that it is simply the best. I am not just talk, I seek the truth and action on all issues. I just don't sit in front of TV and fill my mouth with popcorn. Also I did the Elvis show a few months ago and raised $1500.00 for "Give Kids The World" Remember what JFK said, "ask not what you can do for Lake Ashton but what Lake Ashton can do for you". Did I get this right? Thank-you
White Pick-up truck
At every home that got broken in, a white pick-up truck was seen in the area. Out of every truck that comes into Lake Ashton, 3 out of 5 are white. It is almost impossible to pin it on a pick up truck as the break in person. There are approx 50 pick up trucks here at one time doing maintenance.
Lawn Care
CD is getting a lawn care quote from vendors. Just too many Lawn Care people at Lake Ashton. They are helping themselves to people homes. But the only problem is if they give it to one Lawn Care Maintenance Guy he is going hired all the guys that got laid off on the other lawn care Maintenance business. What do we gain by it all. We still have the same guys in here. Doesn't make sense. Am I missing something.

This is the time when the CDD take over the club house and place it in the hands of the residents of Lake Ashton. We will control the community. The developer will hand over all rights to the CDD. Four more months and counting.

Club House booked full for 2008
We no longer have the privilege of using the club house at any time we wish next year. Most of the days are booked, weekends are booked completely. They call this our clubhouse. There is a comedian out there. We were told this was our clubhouse when we bought our homes. What more can I say. Its booked full, mostly for the people on the outside.
Same Maintenance men
Have you notice that some of the maintenance people work on the golf course that is own by the developer also work on the Club house grounds that is owned by the CCD. How is this possible? Who pays who?
Residents of Lake Ashton
If this place is so great, you tell me why Joe Hunter or the sales people that sell homes for this community does not live here. I think they know more than we do. They just don't want to live in a institution with many rules.

Lake Ashton Resident Directory
Have you ever looked at the Directory, what a mess. People E-mails are also on other people listings. People have sold their homes and they are still listed. E-mails are no longer correct. Many names with the same address are repeated. This listing is dated April 2008. If Joe Hunter hired these people than they can do no wrong.
Golf Cart Collision
Close, miss by inches, This happen behind the repair building near the storage building, One cart was playing golf and the other was sight seeing going in the opposite direction. There are bushes at the intersection and you can't see around the corner. Good luck
Veterans Memorial
It seems like it is being build on ground that is not level. The ground should be level, where is the supervisor? All monuments are build on level ground. Lets build it right and on level ground.
Road Inspection
The results will be in the week of May 19. It does not look good for the developer says the inspector. Repairs for the roads could run as high as 8 million. Residents could pay or developer could pay. Many residents feel they should pay. One told me to move, I guess he is going to pay for it all. Yes a class action law suit will be file in the next few weeks.
Another Forecloser
Yes, he was told by the sales office that he could make lots of money. He bought 3 homes and 2 on spec, sold one, now he just can't afford to keep both of his homes. He moved out a few weeks ago, never to return. Yes, this is paradise says Joe Hunter and please keep paying for MX even if your not here to use it and also on spec homes.

Addition to Covenants
Yes, more and more rules. In addition to the 54 page covenants, there is the first second and third amendment to master declaration of covenants, articles of HOA incorporation, bylaws of HOA, and guess what. Effective August 16, 2007 under everybody noses we have in addition a 17 page amenity facilities policies. More and more rules as if we don't have enough. About 100 pages of rules. This place is a institution not a community. Its run by a iron hand.

Dust Storm
At the Lake Ashton Storage facility you could hardly catch your breath with the strong winds blowing. Dust flying all around you and on the motorhomes and RV's. High storage fees and lots of dust. I guess that goes with the rental at no extra cost. Some motor Homes have a hard time driving in and out of their storage spot.
Sonny and Cher
Here we go again, another Sonny and Cher was at the Pro Shop live. Sonny Bono was none other than Joe Hunter and Cher was his wife. If I had known this I would have gone to the Sunshine Flea Market and bought some tomatoes. I can see now he is practicing for a new career after November 8, 2008.
Unwanted visitor
At the 9:00 coffee meeting this Monday Morning, May 19, we had a visitor who was not so welcome. A large lizard was seen walking under people chairs and tables. He was quickly caught and escorted out the side door. We all wave good-by and he quickly went on his merry way.
Roads are sinking
No lady, the man hole covers are not growing or getting taller, the road is sinking. Lets look at Turnberry Lane There is a crack the entire length of the road plus hundreds of cracks going 90 degrees to the road and so does Strathmore Drive. These roads are only three years old. Be ready to pay the high cost of maintaining on these roads. Look at Dunmore Drive, they are building the road up to meet the man holes covers. Looks like a patch up road with hundreds of patches. Lets rename this road Patch Road
New golf fees for Golfers
Golf fees must go up October first, 2008. Joe Hunter says the Developer is not making any money. I feel sorry for him. Fees are now $3400 for a couple plus 7% tax for a total of $3638.00 A single golfer pays $2900.00 plus 7% tax for a total of $3103.00. Be prepared to dig in deeper in your pocketbook to support the developer, he needs it.
Since you go north in the summer, why not just buy a 6 months season ticket for half price. Guess again, take only $500.00 off yearly rate. There are approx 500 members playing golf. Add it up $1,700,000.00 Approx. And he says I'm not making any money. Not only that, you just can't walk in and say can I play golf now, its not going to happen, they want a day to a week notice to play. There is a fool in every crowd.

Boat dock was $100.00 now $75.00 plus 7% tax for a total of $80.25 Reason for this decrease is that no one was docking their boat there. Being a resident of this community I feel we are all being taken by the developer.

U S Veterans Memorial
Construction has began on the Lake Ashton Community Veterans Memorial. This should go on for about a week and a half. At that time this project should be finish and all five branches of the armed services will have a stone. Great Job
