$508,940.75 missing money received by the CDD

Jan & George,

After a meeting with our group of LA 1 residents recently the following  Public Records Requests are being made to both of you , along with each member of the Lake Ashton 1 CDD board of Supervisors.

I am in receipt of the check received by Lake Ashton CDD in the amount of
$508,940.75  that was paid on 12-28-04 , due to Hurricane Charlie on 8-13-04.

I am also in receipt of letters sent to the Developers Council on 4-25-2010  and  6-23-2010,  that to date have been ignored by them.

In an attempt to avert entering in legal action against the Developer and or LA CDD , we are requesting the following.

1:  Minutes of the CDD board meetings that approved all actions taken by them regarding this claim.

2: Copies of all Checks paid along with canceled checks received by any service provider named in the attached claim.

After receiving this requested data, we will decide whether additional information is required. 

Our concerned group of LA residents feel this is something that should have pursued by LA council,  LA  District Mgr, and CDD supervisors.   This is not a new request.   I made the request while serving on the board as minutes will prove,  and  a member / resident made this request several times in the past to NO AVAIL ??

We can / will wait no longer , permitting 7 year time period to pass us by for obtaining this information and take legal action if needed.

Our requests are valid.  The residents are the CDD  and if there is nothing to hide by the developer,  he should have responded within a year since first asked.  

Please add this item to your next CDD agenda, and CC a copy to each board member.

Per your request, please find attached all correspondence in the CDD's possession related to the 2003/2004 insurance claim for hurricane damage to the CDD assets.  Please note that included in this correspondence is a letter that was received by District Counsel last Friday prior to her leaving on vacation.  In an effort to be responsive to your request, I have included the recent letter but please understand that the District staff has not had an opportunity to discuss the correspondence or prepare a response.
