Lake Ashton tells you nothing about car, houses being broken into and mail being stolen from mail boxes.  What do you think these security cars and carts are riding around the community just to see the view?  Ms America June Young, tells you nothing on her web site.  Residents go to the Monday morning meeting to hear nothing about crime here at Lake Ashton, only  the Advertisers talk.  It took me just a few years to rise up as to what a corrupted community this is.  That is why I moved the hell out.  I don't care to go back and say hi to my old friends.  I just hate that community that lies, steal, and care less about thevresidents of Lake Ashton.

road needed repair

No problem.  Residents in the area of a cracking road IN MY NEW COMMUNITY said to developer that the road needed to be repair.  Three days later a crew came and dug a drainage hole with pipe ON EACH SIDE OF THE ROAD and NO resident was  made to pay.  If this was Lake Ashton YOU MUST PAY.  Big difference between this community and Lake Ashton.  Anything that goes wrong in Lake Ashton You Pay.  In Lake Ashton they would only place a new hot top on the road.  Months later you have the same problem.  IDIOTS All roads in Lake Ashton are build on swamp land.  I was there when they dug up the road and all you can see is mud and water under the road.  Where in hell are all the brains?  In storage?  You people have a big problem on your hands.

NEW HOME

We are just a few miles from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean, just a couple miles from Rt 95, and our home is on a long lake about 200-300 feet across and a mile long almost like a canal,  and is just 20 ft from our lanai with a infinity pool.  On hot day the water cools our lanai and living near the ocean the air is cleaner and cooler.  Deep sea Fishing is just around the corner.  No one is in our back yard, except the birds of Florida.  The clubhouse is larger, with bigger card rooms (3) and billiard room.  Movies, 3 times a week, Bingo, 2 times a week, sidewalks on both sides of the road, walking trails thru out the private community with 6 foot wide cement walks and they are all landscape. This community is a 5 star community.  We are very happy and we find it very hard to leave to go to our Maine summer home.  Yes, we hit the jackpot.  Lake Ashton does not in any way compare with this community.  It is a dump, no sidewalks, surrounded with shacks and filled with crime.  No more Rt 4 thru Orlando.

I am a fairly new resident at Lake Ashton. I came across your web site while searching for something else. It appears that you used to live here.  I don't understand why, if you disliked Lake Ashton and moved away, you are still writing about it. It must be on your mind constantly. If you love your new community, that is what life is all about. Forget about the past and enjoy each day. Be kind to yourself and get over any negatively from the past. Just delete your blog and enjoy your new life. It is a second chance so make the most of it.

P.S.  I love my new home and the community of Lake Ashton. Each to their own!

 FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - A Fort Myers Beach veteran fighting a deadly illness is desperate. He says his condo association is threatening to punish him for using a critical tool that's helping keep him alive.
He wants to know why they won't work with him after a year-long battle, even with a doctor's note.
Four in Your Corner's Kelli Stegeman fought to get him answers. 

Moving is critical for Robert McLaughlin. He has ALS, also known as Lou Gherig's disease, which breaks down neurons in the brain and weakens muscles.  Robert recently got a letter from his condo's board at Shamron Beach Condominiums on Fort Myers Beach that could take away his independence and put his safety in jeopardy. His weekly physical therapy helps to keep his ALS at bay. It's not easy, but he's coping. "Last June I found that I can no longer walk safely with my cane and I started looking for devices to help me walk," McLaughlin said.  He can't grip regular walkers, so, he's turned to a simple shopping cart. It's his lifeline, and his condominium is trying to pull the plug.

"Having the cart and being able to move around from your apartment down to your parking space, what does it give you?" reporter Kelli Stegeman asked. "It gives me a life!" responded McLaughlin. 
The letter from the board highlights a condo rule; no storage in common areas like walkways.
"The management company thinks I should bring the cart over the threshold and into this apartment," said McLaughlin.
"And why don't you do that?" Stegeman asked. 
"Because I can't do it," he replied. "I don't have the strength or the maneuverability, stability to get that cart over the threshold. Seems small, but I can't lift it."
The violation is $100 a day if he refuses to comply with management. Robert says those fines would start May 10th. 
One board member Stegeman tracked down off camera told her bending the rules for one would mean bending the rules for all. 
The board president never returned Stegeman's phone calls. 
She did reach the management company, Alliant Property, that told her the company had no comment. Stegeman left Robert's name and number on his behalf. 
"What am I going to do? I'm going to use this cart as long as I can, or I'm going to be house bound," McLaughlin said.
He does have some help in all of this. Total Wine donated the cart and the Florida Human Rights Commission has expressed interest to help. 
A condominium hearing on the matter is set for May 9th.

Another house "for sale" at Lake Ashton

I should have guess it.  My friends that visited me on Saturday now have their home listed for sale.  He says there is no caparison between LAKE ASHTON AND THIS COMMUNITY.  birds, rabbits and squirrels everywhere.  This community is next to a wild life refuge.  This is the life, outside my front door are all these wild animals running around.  Only a fool and a idiot without any knowledge of other communities would live in a NO sidewalk community.  There are over 1300 homes here and only less than 28 are for sale.  Over 50 are now being build on water and most are under contract.  Sidewalks on both sides of the street and walking trails thru out the community.

Visiter from Lake Ashton

On Sunday I had a couple come over from Lake Ashton and saw our new location and place.  The first thing he said was HOLY SHIT WHAT A PLACE.  WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS SOONER.

Yes, this place is a thousands times bigger with birds and rabbits all over the place. $10.00  Bingo with free pop corn.  Bigger club house, pool, spa, 4 bocce ball courts, 4 tennis courts, horse shoes, shuffleboards courts, larger 3 card rooms, larger billiard room and most of all sidewalks on both sides of the road.  The main road into the community has a white line for bikes and golf carts.  Homes are build much better with longer driveways.  Yes, the developer thinks about the resident not about himself.  I am a thousands times happier here than in the institution of Lake Ashton.  I can't believe I wasted 7 years in that dam community under the control of (do nothing) Joe Hunter and the developer. 

Lake Ashton is a dump compare to this community.
