As a long time resident of your beautiful development ,7 yrs this past October to be exact and owner of two homes, let me just say I am very disappointed by the article in the Ledger Newspaper today Dec. 8 in the fact that you would let this problem with Chinese drywall get to this level. Its bad enough that we have all taken a hit because of the recession with the devaluation of our properties falling by as much as 50% and now we are faced with another black eye to the community. Mr. Maxwell I think that if you will ask Mr. Mark Schreiber, Joe Hunter or any of your staff out here that my wife and I have always promoted and defended Lake Ashton among many negative comments from some of these folks in the community. I think it is your financial obligation to do what ever is necessary to insure that all of these homes are not in any way affected by this Chinese drywall dilemma. Mr. Maxwell the newspaper makes reference to the homes only built between 2006 and 2007 well I don't know if that is true or not. After moving in our home in 2002 and after being here for about a year and a half my wife and I began to experience short bouts with respiratory infections and really couldn't understand why when both of us exercise every day and try to take care of ourselves. We began to notice black soot looking material around the edges our carpet, coming out of the air vents, black soot halo around the pictures on the walls and this material was covering our cloths. After numerous attempts with the air-conditioning folks out here we were told by their experts that it was a phenomenon and they didn't know what it was. At this point we did not know who to turn to however we were friends with Lonnie Adams who at the time I think was your project engineer. We asked Lonnie to come and inspect our house and by his advise he asked us to find someplace to go for a week while they corrected this problem. At the end of the day my wife and I had been living in a house full of mold which had permeated the air handler and the duct work through out the house and we are very grateful that Lonnie stepped to the plate no questions asked while we were out of the expense of ripping up the carpet, repainting the inside of our house and throwing our clothes away.

Today I can go out side in the garage and look at the ceiling around the air handler and again it is getting black with mold..............................Makes you wonder doesn't?

No decisions has been made on the hiring of attorney Danial Perry. Attorney Perry feels that a survey is needed before he handles the case. This could go on for years. Why don't the HOA sit down with the developer and tell him that most of the people don't want the MX. That's all there is to it. There is no need to hired a attorney to sit down with the developer and pay him $10,000 or so in fees to have a cup of coffee and talking over this issue. Case dismiss.

Just in. Tuesday Dec 8, 6:30am, Fire Dept was called to tiger Woods home in Florida and a woman was taken to the hospital. The Tiger is lose, lock your doors.

Bingo Paul

I attended Bingo Monday evening.. 12-7--09....I watched to see how Bingo Paul would pay out to players, how much he paid, and if he kept a record of the winners names...etc required by FL Statute on Bingo Games. I could not get close enough to get the answers....But I do wonder....Why must the HOA wait till Jan 1 2010 to take over the operation and record keeping...

Hasn't Bingo Paul done enough damage. What excuse can be used for the delay.

Bingo Paul and the IRS must explain himself

Bingo Paul is indeed in a lot of trouble with the 50/50 raffle. We all know that he gives 1/2 to the winner which should be noted and written down and the other half to whom he puts in his account call "give it too account" what ever he calls it. That half, he must pay taxes on all of it and he never did. Yes, the IRS will be knocking on Bingo Paul's door with handcuffs, please wash the 5x7 cell and get it ready for Mr Know It All Bingo Paul, while your at it please throw away the key.

With the rest of the money he repair the chairs, drapes, and dance floor, ETC, on and on, look at the L A times page 16 of Jan issue 2009 at all the things he did. It should be in the thousands of dollars, yet no taxes were paid on none of this money he used from 50/50.. He used this money illegally and did not paid any taxes on it. Please, I don't write the law, I had nothing to do with the taxes, so don't blame me. I just write the news. I just don't know why Bingo Paul sticks his finger with his hand straight up has he looked at me playing billiards on Monday.

Second, The CDD never was notify of all the repairs he did, its not in the minutes therefore he gave the money directly to Joe Hunter, in other words to the developer.

Third, What right does Paul Pontious have to take that money and give it directly to his buddy Joe Hunter? This my friends is a scam. Are we to sit by and praise Paul Pontious and Joe Hunter for all this wrong doing? I am asking Bingo Paul to step down, end of story or is it?

Forth, Ask Do Nothing Joe Hunter if he received any money fron Bingo Paul. The only thing he will say is "Gee I don't Know", can't remember!

Lake Ashton Former Attorney about Bingo Paul

As a former Attorney, now retired and living in Lake Ashton for a year, I cant help but wonder ???

By having the HOA handling the Bingo Money instead of.. BINGO PAUL .. The money retained after expenses, payouts to players,etc. must still be donated to Charitable Institutions.

TRUE....Bingo P will not be able to give it to his personal friends or tell the CDD he will make them a gift for one thing or another...when he in fact should never had that privllege.

The money earned in the LA Ballroom, for ANY REASON is the residents money, and directed to use by the Board of Supervisors.

They and They alone can determine Rental Charges, and expenses to maintain the equipment etc.

Finally. NOW for the first time, I beieve the Florida Statutes will be followed. Something that has been neglected by Bingo Paul and others.

Bingo Paul troubles are not over

50/50 will be no more. Bingo Paul just doesn't know how to keep his month shut. He places an article in the L A Times saying where all the 50/50 money and snack bar money has gone. Well we all know that more money is required to buy and do all the things he said in the L A Times. It seems that he is running the 50/50 game without a gambling license from the state of Florida. There is NO license required for Bingo.... The requirement for Bingo is a Certificate issued by the STATE. Lake Ashton has that Certificate for Bingo but no gambling license for profit on 50/50.
How can a person that knows it all and make so many mistakes be in charge of Bingo? He should stick to calling numbers and then again he makes mistakes. The HOA says he will no longer be in charge of Bingo and have the right to say where all the left over money from Bingo is going. Effective Jan 1, 2010, the HOA will control the Bingo money in a special account for charity. They alone must decide to whom and where the money is going and report it to the state, not to know it all Paul Pontious. Paul duties are only to call the numbers at Bingo and give all the remaining money to the HOA committee for safe keeping. Its time to clean out the Bingo account Paul, and let the HOA handle it. HOA wants no more errors and wants the game of Bingo to be honest.

Your right Bingo Paul, a HOA member must control the Bingo Game, but how did you know this two years ago when you told this to Jessie and took over Bingo? What goes around comes around. Do we have another Nostradamus who can tell the future?
