Veterans Memorial

The Veterans of Lake Ashton donated $22,000 to build the Memorial here at Lake Ashton. All expenses are totally paid for by all Lake Ashton veterans including the electricity cost of $10.00/mo. This idea took place a year ago and got the approval of the CDD. Yesterday the Five head stones at a cost of $12,000 came in after a long trip across the ocean from China. They were quickly place on large blocks of cement for added support build by Rogers Construction at his expense.. Frank Ota plan the entire project. A great job done by a great Vietnam Veteran who return three times to Vietnam.

Flying high over the Veterans Memorial is the American Flag and the MIA-POW Flag. Behind the head stones are the Flags of the Five Armed Services.

Today is the first day Wednesday June 3, 2009 that the Veterans Memorial will be visited by all Lake Ashton Veterans that are still here, most of them are snowbirds, and will be unable to be here for the service.
