CROOKS

Hay Bingo Paul, How much money did you place in your pocket?  No record and no books.  No one knows.  You and your wife are the biggest crooks in Lake Ashton.  Residents are now going over the HFC for Pot Luck for $1.00

Van Sickle and Rogers, just a couple of good ol¹ boys who¹s record has been that of Tax and Spend! ...

Van Sickle and Rogers, just a couple of good ol’ boys who’s record has been that of Tax and Spend!

Mr. Van Sickle encourages us to examine his record and vote accordingly.  Well, here is a snapshot of Van Sickle’s record over the 4 years he has been on the Lake Wales Commission:
  • Van Sickle (and Rogers) increased the City of Lake Wales’s Debt from $25.5 Million Dollars to over $35 Million Dollars

  • Van Sickle’s plan to pay off $2 Million Dollars (from the Cities Reserve Fund), not only drains the drains the reserve fund but does little to pay the interest on the current 35 Million Dollar deficit. At the end of 9 years the City will be facing over a $50 Million dollar defict, just on interest of the $35 Million alone.

  • To give you an idea how ‘fiscally conservative’ Van Sickle is, he wasted over $200,000 dollars on a project that surveyed a parking lot of which nothing could ever be built there.

  • Van Sickle (and Rogers) has done NOTHING to address the failing infrastructure that includes the City’s sewer system that constantly fails and overflows into the streets and resident’s homes.

  • Van Sickle (and Rogers) has done little to address the worsening economic situation that the City of Lake Wales has been facing for many years.

  • Jack Van Sickle, a strong supporter of John Paul Rogers, a known Grand Dragon in the United Klan’s of America which was the most violent and largest Klan organization of its time. Van Sickle has equated John Paul Rogers’s affiliation with the Klan to that of someone having had several speeding tickets in ones past. Really? Do you know Van Sickle’s supporters cheered when he made this comparison!

  • According to a St Petersburg Times article (titled, ‘Lake Wales commissioner has history in Klan’, by Susan Taylor Martin, Times Senior Correspondent, Sunday, September 6, 2009) , Mr. Rogers, along with support from Mayor Jack Van Sickle, fired long time City Manager, Tony Otte, because Mr. Tote’s efforts supported and helped minorities, and, as City Manager, allocated asphalt to repair a local school (i.e. doing his job). However, since Otte didn’t get ‘permission’, was fired, or so the story goes.

Vote for Betty Wojcik for commissioner and Mike Carter for Mayor

Vote "NO" on Amendments 9 through 14.

CANDIDATE SIGNS ARE BEING KNOCK DOWN

Betty Wojcik poster signs are being knock down.  This is how these Sick Van Sickle associates, and hoodlums  work.  They are sick, if you don't take them out to dinner they try to destroy you.  The elections here at Lake Ashton work the same.  Bingo Paul operates this way.  Why would anyone want to knock down a candidates sign?  This my friends is very sick.  We put them back up and again they are knock down. They are down again just outside the community up the road about a mile on your right.  You guys are sick. That is why we call him Sick van Sickle.

Thank you, John, for your letter.

Letter TO THE NEWSPAPER:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
While  a  member of  Lake Ashton' 1  CDD  Board of
Supervisors, it was brought to my attention that  Lake
Ashton was conducting an illegal  50-50  Gambling Game
during its Monday night Bingo Games held there.

I was totally unaware of that function being illegal.  I
studied the Fl Statute on the subject and found that it was
true.   I immediately  did what the law required me to do.
I contacted the Lake Ashton Attorney as well as the
District Manager.  They made the decision to cease that
illegal 50-50  drawing at Bingo on Monday nites,  as stated
in the Florida Statutes.

Jack VanSickle was aware that this illegal game went on
while he was a Commissioner and Mayor of Lake Wales.    When
I suggested to him he should have known the drawing was
illegal , his response at CDD meeting was quote  "  NO ONE
CAN CLAIM I EVER PURCHASED A TICKET "   ???   So that makes
it legal?

I contend anyone can make a mistake.  We all have.  But when
a mistake is exposed,  rather than turn your back on it,
confront it and correct it.  That is exactly what I did.
The Mayor dd not.

April 5th can be the beginning of the return to a wonderful
and prosperous community.  I do not prefer VanSickle at the
helm.

I believe  a vote for BETTY WOJCIK is that beginning.

John L Chickness Sr
Former Lake Ashton 1
CDD Supervisor

BINGO PAUL PONTIOUS and all his Associates

This message is for all the dumb brainless residents who have done nothing, did nothing and will do nothing but hide their true identify and complain to me about this thief Bingo Paul Pontious and all his associates, Joe Ferreira, Frank Ota and Sick Van Sickle are the greatest thing that ever happen here at Lake Ashton. Paul Pontious stole the game of Bingo from Jessie Ayres. Jessie did all the ground work and brought the game of Bingo to this community.   Jessie could not move out of here fast enough. He had no good words about Pontious.   Paul was always given orders to Jessie, Telling Jessie what to do and always coming in late.  Jessie gave all the Bingo money back to the players while Paul took the money, place it in his pocket,  and spend it on himself and his dear buddies, and you people just love him.  Why don't you take him out to dinner?  Paul was the guy that walked into the billiard room and call me a idiot in front of 20 or more players, and also in front of the clubhouse.    He plays golf and shouts idiot to me in my back yard.  Also this same guy call me a idiot while I was in front of mt house and also Big Fat Joe Ferreira.  He even complain to Joe Hunter about my Blog.  He also complain about me taken water from the small pond next to my house.  Does he think he can walk on water?  This guy has loose marbles in his head.  He even send letters to my house telling my other half to leave me.  This guy is a complete nut.  His wife up the price of pot luck dinner to $2.00 a plate.  All they think about is money.  This guy must pay the price of stealing money from the players, not paying taxes and do jail time.  Paul Pontious must quit Bingo.  He is stealing the money for himself and you don't care.  Paul is on the HOA and hbis wife is on the CDD.  Don't they know they have done enough damage.  They are so full of hot air, lies and greed they they have downgraded this community and lowered the value of our properties.  I can't believe they hike the cost of pot luck to $2.00.  Other communities don't charge anything, and you people love it.  Carol is thinking about buying POT LUCK T-shirts  Ban Bingo and Pot Luck.  Show your support.  Pontious must quit Bingo and Carol must give up Pot Luck.

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD, AND DON’T MOVE FAST ANYMORE

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD, AND DON’T MOVE FAST ANYMORE

George  Phillips, an elderly man, from Walled Lake, Michigan, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"
He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.
Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available" George said, "Okay."
He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed.  Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot and killed them both, the dogs are eating them right now." and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

(True Story) I LOVE IT! Don't mess with old people.

Vision versus vacuum

I am a 35-year resident of Lake Wales, a former City Commissioner and Mayor and have been actively engaged in the life of our community the whole time. It is obvious to me that the upcoming election of a new Mayor and City Commissioner is of critical importance to the present well being and the future growth of our city.

I strongly support Mike Carter for Mayor and Betty Wojcik for Seat 4 on the City Commission. I support them because Lake Wales needs vision, not hallucination, it needs leadership, not dictatorship and it needs restoration of its image as the Crown Jewel, not the reputation of “government by gang”.
Both Mike Carter and Betty Wojcik will bring sorely need positive qualities to the City Commission Chambers in their individual roles.
Those qualities include high levels of education, professional experience, decision making expertise, communication skills, respect for individuals, love of community, and the willingness to represent the people of Lake Wales.

Our city is faced with serious economic issues that reflect the current economic condition of our state and nation. But vision calls for exploring options, sometimes outside the box, to solve our problems. “Just say no” is a drug program not a fiscally responsible government policy. “No” is not vision and it is certainly not leadership.
Carter and Wojcik’s opponents in this election demonstrate neither vision nor leadership and I urge you to vote April 5 for Mike Carter and Betty Wojcik.
