Letter to Joe Hunter

Joe Hunter I ask you many months ago that this jerk was parking his trailer in my spot #130. You and Jamie said you would take of it. And again you said that it would be taken care of the very next day. This was months ago. It still has not moved. Again I wanted dates on the possibility of having a charity show. Again you have not gotten back to me. I ask you also what I said at the golf Club about my broken window, and again you have not gotten back to me. Now your accusing me of solicitation of commercial advertisements on golf carts. Joe are you losing your marbles. What the hell are you talking about. And again are you going to deny Give Kids the World a Charity show so I can give them $1500 ? Have you ever done anything for charity? Joe you are a loser

Mr. King,
If you have a specific date in mind, I will research it for you and respond. There are some days, other than the ones you first requested, that are available.

Living on the Golf Course

Eddie Frye, Golf Pro once said anybody that buys a home on the golf course are out of their mind said one home owner after his window got broken twice who had a conversation with him, Quote unquote.

No over night parking for guest

Joe Hunter says no over night parking at club house or streets or vacant lots. If you do park you have to have prior approval from who? This guy never makes himself clear. Do they have car service from lot to home? How do you get back home? If you have company call Joe Hunter to see where to park. He says no overnight guest parking.

House Break-Ins

Over 4 homes and seven or more cars were broken into. Lock your car. The thief is entering through the sliding doors. It is very easy to disconnect the lock on the sliding door. Install a sliding dead bolt on your sliding door and drill a hole in the top of the slider. You now have a sliding door that is locked. Also install a angle bracket on the other sliding door with the lock and drill holes in door and frame. Install angle bracket and screws and secure the sliding door to the frame. This sliding door never opens. Now all sliding doors are locked and the crook can't get in.

Security

To have a effective Security here at Lake Ashton is now a big joke. They are not armed and they drive around in golf carts. What can they do if a break in takes place ? Nothing. They must call the police and you know how long it will take for them to get here. In the mean time the crook knows he was seen and he is on his way out of here.

New Clubhouse in the West

Have you notice that the new club house is build different than Lake Ashton East. Do you know why? The developer wants us to use both club houses but that will not happen. We are in Lake Wales and the other is in Winter Haven. We don't want the problems of Lake Ashton West. Lake Ashton East is Lake Ashton East.

Dead Fish

Hundreds of Dead fish line the shores near hole 3. Many birds were seen feeding on them including Bald Eagles. Why did the fish die, no test was made, and I guess we will never know if it was herbicides? The fish was pick up by maintenance.

Air boat on Lake Ashton

After seeing the air boat race around over the waves of Lake Ashton, Joe Hunter ran out and ask the air boat owner to get off the lake. Making too much noise. Joe, how about the airplane that flies within 50 feet over our homes and lands in the lake. Have you said anything to the pilot. Oh, I'm sorry I guess you know them and now it becomes OK. Joe, the state owns the lake, there is nothing you can do. Please Joe stay in the clubhouse and eat the food in the restaurant.

Alligator Kill

Throwing a piece of meat in a pond behind the sales office that night and the next day this large alligator was bleeding and in agony. This is Joe Hunter way of saying don't feed the alligators. He says if you do they will be exterminated. Joe, they were here before Lake Ashton and do they have to die a cruel death because you think someone has fed the alligator. Tell the truth, the developer wanted him out, bad for sales.

Buyer Beware

If you think you are getting what you thought was getting here at Lake Ashton, think again. When a homeowner bought here, along side the present club house there was a practice golf green and a sauna in the clubhouse. They remove the practice green over to the pro shop and the Sauna over Lake Ashton West. We are losing our amenities here at the club house. This is only the begining.

Entertainment Series

The Entertainment Series was not the best and its becoming just like the movies, going down hill fast, just like the cost of living. This year I am not going to buy the season ticket and be force to see shows that are no interest to me. To spent my time sitting and watching a show that is one star is not my cup of tea.

Moving because he doesn't like golf course

A golf player has had it. He claims to have lost hundreds of his golf balls in grass, lakes and streams. He is not going to lose anymore golf balls so he is pulling up stakes and moving to a more friendier Golf Course. I live on the golf course and I have seen hundreds of golf balls fly into the stream and small pond. When these players come and look for their balls, they are saying words I don't want to repeat. Joe Hunter should be here. They are using foul language and should be asked not to play golf here at Lake Ashton Their behavior is unprofessonal, right Joe. Do your Job.

Register your guest

Joe Hunter says you must register your guest if they are going to used the amenities and if your a renter you must bring a copy of your lease agreement and be register. This place is becoming more and more like a institution instead of a friendly community. He says this is Paradise. I just can't seem to find it, I'm still looking.

The Sheriff is coming

Sheriff Grady Judd is coming to Lake Ashton on May 12 to talk about fraud, I guess he doesn't have to travel far.

HOA meeting to discussed broken windows by Golf Balls

Received a letter today May 6, 2008 from David L. Akers, HOA Board Secretary. They acknowledge the letter I gave them a few days ago posted on this web site, that broken windows will be discussed on their next meeting on May 18th at 9:00AM in the house game room. I hope these guys come up with the same idea I have, putting money aside in a kitty for used in case of a broken window by a golfer who runs away. Some golfers would come forward and say I did it, some would run out of sight. I still have your yellow golf ball. I'll trade it for $170.00 in repairs. Your house Insurance does not pays for it. I have to pay the first $500.00. Coward.

NEW VISITER TO WEB SITE

Joe Hunter every morning opens up lakeashtontalk to see what is being said and to get the latest news about this community. He has no choice, he doesn't have too many friends that tells him the latest happenings.

STORIES OR INFORMATION WANTED

IF YOU HAVE ANY STORIES OR INFORMATION THAT WOULD BE OF INTEREST TO THE RESIDENTS OF LAKE ASHTON COMMUNITY PLEASE SEND TO lakeashtontalk@hotmail.com

$10.00 Late fee on MX

Our Community Director Joe Hunter has decided to charge a $10.00 late fee for MX Communications after 10 days. I guess they are not making enough money on this service for life. If you go away for the summer, you can’t turn it off, you must keep it on. You can turn your lights off, your gas off, your water off even ask the post office to hold your mail. When you buy your home they don’t tell you anything about MX. Big surprise for homeowners when they get a bill that says MX $70/mo. They don’t tell you about the high taxes and the Club house is own by Larry Maxwell, they tell you this is your clubhouse, and this is a private gated community. These are public roads, yes even that man in a black hood over his head is allow in.

Card room welcome

Walk in the card room yesterday, with the cheers of all the ladies, all wanted information on the outlook of Joe Hunter. They all agree he does nothing to help the residents of Lake Ashton and they all wonder if he has any friends if any. If you know of any help he has provided, please inform me at lakeashtontalk@hotmail.com I will gladly post it to this web site. His office is located in a windowless room off the exercise room which he shares with the chief Miguel Suazo. His phone number is 863-324-5457 He never answers his phone and when he does it will be many days later he will return the phone call. His excuse is the fact there are 1200 homes here and he was busy with them... Be prepare if you have a problem he will ask you to see the CDD or the HOA. Here a guy that gets paid over six figures and does nothing.

On March 1, we had a complete full house of 420 people to see MDT give a tribute to ELVIS. Dennis Thornberry MDT as ELVIS dedicated his talents to the late Elvis Presley. The ballroom itself is a trip back in time to the mid 1950's when ELVIS played theaters all over the country. Before the show started Ed King talked about the life and legend of ELVIS. After the introduction the lights begin to fade once again and this time you hear the rumble of drums and "2001 Space Odyssey" The ballroom, the music, the energy, the full house back to the early years of Rock and Roll. Even the ladies in the audience began to scream when he comes near them as if they were 16 again. A few of the ladies received his scarfs while he was singing. Many songs later and a complete trip Thu the hits of the Mid and late 1950's, many people did not want to leave their seats in fear they might be missing something during intermission. One last song, a drum roll, a few Elvis style bows, some shaking of hands, he was gone.

We raise $1500.00 for Give Kids the World and for the last show in Florida on March 2 he went to their Village in Kissimmee and perform for the kids and gave the check to the Village. The kids were wonderful and they all had a good time. He ask one of the kids do you know who I am and she reply "no". To see all the children watch MDT perform was a welcome sight.

Once again I hope to bring tribute shows to Lake Ashton to raise money for Give Kids the World.

No trucks allowed two years ago

Pick-up trucks
Dear Sir or Madam:
A pick-up truck that is used for personal use with no commercial markings or evidence of commercial use shall be permitted to be parked in owner’s driveway. Pick-up trucks are aesthetically equal to many new passenger cars and superior to many older vehicles. Sport Utility Vehicles {SUV) have a truck-base and are in most cases, larger than pick-ups. The Excursion weights over 7000 lbs. The Chrysler PT Cruiser is considered a “truck” under certain federal government guidelines. The Pontiac Aztec could be called a car, van, truck or a confused mess of a design, depending upon who you asked. The Hummer, a fighting vehicle presently used in Iraq, a troop carrier, a tank, a SUV, a truck, just a big hunk of metal larger and taller than the Ford F-150. The Van, a pod on wheels, has never won a prize for beauty or design, just a long ugly box.
In the past decade the most popular vehicle sold in the United States is the pick-up truck. (Ford F-150).
Therefore your restriction of home owners’ trucks is unreasonable. These vehicles along with their cousins the SUV’s have become a staple of our society and to prohibit them would unreasonably interfere with the owners’ right to use and enjoy their property. These vehicles do not interfere with the property values of this community now or in the future.
Lake Ashton has been advertised as a RV friendly community. To change that image now would seriously affect the community’s moral and therefore also affect the property value of homes in Lake Ashton. Let’s keep the motto: “Simply The Best!”
Sincerely,
Edmund W. King

Letter to HOA

April 30, 2008
BROKEN WINDOWS

HOA people been chosen to represent the residents of Lake Ashton. This is a main concern for all home owners that have a home on the golf course. If you go to Joe Hunter and complain you get nothing from him. He is useless. A clone from the developer. I try to tell him that windows are being broken by golf balls, but he does not understand this. I was hoping that all golf players place $5.00 or more in a ktty, and when a window gets broken, just reach in and help the home owner pay for his broken window. Joe Hunter wanted no part of this. Doesn’t want the golfer to pay any more to play golf.
High enough now as it is. Screw the home owner.

The windows in people homes are very cheap thanks to the developer . You just can’t take out the window and bring it to a repair shop, they have to come to your home and repair the broken window in its frame. This broken window cost me $105.00 plus another person had to come and put a film on the window, another $65.00 for a total of $170.00.

These golf players are paying $3,500.00 for a season pass, why not tack another small $5.00 fee for a broken window to place in the kitty.

The developer makes all the money and we as home owners pay all his bills, does this made sense? I am sick and tired of talking to Joe Hunter, because he does nothing but sends you a letter that he is going to ban me from the Pro Shop. Because you complained about golf ball that went thru your window. He also send a letters to Mark Schreiber and Ron Baxley. All he wants to do is scare you. He doesn’t want any one to complain.

No wonder there are over 85 homes for sale and Approx 12 foreclosures here at Lake Ashton. People just can’t wait to get the hell out of here.

One person on the golf course got there window broken seven times. Well if it cost me $170.00 for one. 7 windows equals $1190.00. No its not funny Joe Hunter just laughs about it. We need new management after November, all he knows on Monday mornings is raising your right hand for the American flag. After that he’s useless.

I’m asking you, what are you going to do about it? Please take action.

Letter to George Flint

Mr. George Flint
201 East Pine St.
Suite 950
Orlando, Fl. 33801
Mr. George Flint; district manager
Living here has been a very unpleasant experience, knowing what I know now I would not be living here. If there is a problem, there is basally no one here to complaint to and if you do complain he will find ways to crucify you and it takes him three days or more to get back to you for a I can do nothing answer. A note was placed on his door and three days later, after 2 phone calls, I am talking about none other than our Community Director, Joeseph Hunter. I am truly amazed that he has lasted this long. He has made broken promises to the Golf Pro prior to Eddie Frye saying he would have a part in designing the new 9 hole golf course. He left after finding out Mr. Hunter was not telling the truth. Also the Chief prior to Miguel Suazo had it out with Joe Hunter. It seems no matter what he cooked, Joe Hunter was never satisfied. Also the Ashton Grill Bar tender was promised he would be at the new Bar at the Pro Shop, this never happen so he left.
Many homes and cars are being broken into, never once did he mention this on Monday morning coffee meeting. He should have told the people of Lake Ashton to make sure all doors are locked and alarms are on. We had to tell the people ourselves at the coffee meeting what was going on. Cars were parking in front of the bicycle rack stand at the clubhouse making it useless for people to park their bike there. I ask Joe Hunter to refrain people from parking there before the Coffee meeting; he did not say a thing. He found out that I parked my inflatable 11’ boat in the lake in back of my house over night He asked me never to do it again. I told him this community does not own the lake, the state does. I told him about the herbicides spraying here at Lake Ashton and that we eat the fish with the herbicides. He said for me to go see the CDD. I call Jake Eaton, he said he’ll look into it. Well I did one better I called the Southwest Florida Water Management District. You know the rest of the story.
Joe Hunter rules this community with a cold heart and an iron hand. I have talked with many residents here at Lake Ashton and I can tell you honestly he is not well liked. I have seen him in arguments with residents and I can not believe my eyes. This is a Community Director, give me a break. I am quite sure the Community Development District can do a hell of a lot better and it wouldn’t take much to replace him. When I first moved in I used to see Joe Hunter every day, now he hides, never see him. He does not want to be seen, and he never answers his phone. WHY? How can this person welcome the residents of Lake Ashon, knowing he will do nothing to help them. One person had their home broke into, instead of feeling sorry for that person he told her to move her bushes, they were obstructing someone’s view. Just like me I complain about a golf ball going thru my window and he sends me a letter saying I used profanity and I will be ban from the Pro Shop. He loves to scare people, no wonder there are over 85 homes or more and a dozen homes under foreclosure here at Lake Ashton . People can’t wait to get the hell out of here. And I am one of them.
