Letter to HOA

April 30, 2008
BROKEN WINDOWS

HOA people been chosen to represent the residents of Lake Ashton. This is a main concern for all home owners that have a home on the golf course. If you go to Joe Hunter and complain you get nothing from him. He is useless. A clone from the developer. I try to tell him that windows are being broken by golf balls, but he does not understand this. I was hoping that all golf players place $5.00 or more in a ktty, and when a window gets broken, just reach in and help the home owner pay for his broken window. Joe Hunter wanted no part of this. Doesn’t want the golfer to pay any more to play golf.
High enough now as it is. Screw the home owner.

The windows in people homes are very cheap thanks to the developer . You just can’t take out the window and bring it to a repair shop, they have to come to your home and repair the broken window in its frame. This broken window cost me $105.00 plus another person had to come and put a film on the window, another $65.00 for a total of $170.00.

These golf players are paying $3,500.00 for a season pass, why not tack another small $5.00 fee for a broken window to place in the kitty.

The developer makes all the money and we as home owners pay all his bills, does this made sense? I am sick and tired of talking to Joe Hunter, because he does nothing but sends you a letter that he is going to ban me from the Pro Shop. Because you complained about golf ball that went thru your window. He also send a letters to Mark Schreiber and Ron Baxley. All he wants to do is scare you. He doesn’t want any one to complain.

No wonder there are over 85 homes for sale and Approx 12 foreclosures here at Lake Ashton. People just can’t wait to get the hell out of here.

One person on the golf course got there window broken seven times. Well if it cost me $170.00 for one. 7 windows equals $1190.00. No its not funny Joe Hunter just laughs about it. We need new management after November, all he knows on Monday mornings is raising your right hand for the American flag. After that he’s useless.

I’m asking you, what are you going to do about it? Please take action.

Okay, when you looked at your lot, did not not see how close you were to the golf course? Come on.
People need to take responsibility for their choices and you chose a home that was probably right in the line of fire. What were you thinking?

I, too, bought a home on the golf course. I was told that the golfers were decent folks and would notify the Pro Shop if they broke any windows. I am a snow bird and guess what - my first return trip, one broken window (thanks to neighbor who put up a black plastic bag I didn't have any unwanted guests) but no refund for a $250.00 replacement window. I now TAKE all golf balls that invade my property - small recompense for the initial cost but some satisfaction.
