When was the last time you saw a 6 volt battery?
You'll LOVE this one. What got me was the seatcovers... Remember??? Well you youngsterswon't, but us oldsters will, betcha!!!
The oil filter is the blue can with yellow top,you could stick a roll of toilet paper in there. The air filter is the oil bath type, the bottomportion is filled with oil and when you cleanedit you replaced the oil and clean the sump and
mesh wire filter This is awesome!
1950 Chevrolet Club Coupe, 437 original miles, only three owners. Check out the dealer installed"oil filter", the rusty carb, and you can even seethe spark plugs if they need to be changed.
Purchased new by Mr. And Mrs. JessieTrueblood of Modesto , CA . Shortly after purchasingthe car, Mr. Trueblood took aday off to go fishing. While waiting forthe "big one" to bite he witnessed awoman fall out of her boat. Mr. Truebloodjumped in to help, only to fall victim of afatal heart attack. Mrs. Trueblood returned
the car home and placed it in the garage forthe next 12 years. The odometer reading atthat time (1962) was 413 miles.
Mrs. Trueblood lived next door to a used car lot owned by Mr.William E. Wilson (now 81 years old). Mr. Wilson spoke withher frequently and often told her he would like to buy the carfor himself to keep. In 1962 the time had come. Mrs. Truebloodtold Mr. Wilson she needed a car for her bookkeeper who didn'treally care for the old Chevy and would prefer a Rambler. Noproblem - Mr. Wilson went down to the local Rambler dealerand bought a brand new one for $1,650.00 ($100.00 over cost)and made the swap.
He then took the Chevy home and parkedit with 433 actual miles. And there it satfor the next 45 years, occasionally beingstarted and moved in and out of the garage.
In 2007 Mr. Wilson decided to sell the carand started spreading the word aroundModesto that the old Chevy, with 433miles on it, was for sale. Many had heardabout the car, but hardly anyone had everlaid eyes on it. In fact, according to Mr.Wilson, he only showed the car to about five people in 45 years. World spreadquickly about the car and soon a buyerarrived ready and willing to pay the$60,000 asking price.
When Mr. Wilsontold the story of this car he complainedheavily of the "capital gains" tax he wasrequired to pay and wished he had neversold it.
As of this writing, Mr. Wilson is still aliveand well in Modesto and can verify the miles and originality of this car.
Simply put, this is a true 100% factoryoriginal survivor (that includes the air inthe tires). This old Chevy now has 437original miles and is most likely theworld's lowest mileage 1950 Chevy.
Look the Battery is not seal, you have to refill it.
