Tsunami Hits Japan After 8.8 Magnitude Earthquake Off Coast
An earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 struck off the coast of
Japan on Friday afternoon local time, according the United
States Geological Survey.
Local Japanese television broadcast images of cars, trucks
and buildings being swept away by a tsunami in Onahama city
in Fukushima prefecture, according to The Associated Press.
